Transavia/Peter Pan Vakantieclub
How do you make a charity's website accessible to both sick children and their parents?
The Peter Pan Vakantieclub is a charity founded by Transavians (Transavia employees). They travel 4 to 5 times a year with chronically ill children. During these trips the children are able to meet peers who go through the same struggles as themselves. During my 10 weeks internship I was asked to redesign and structure the website.

Research
Insights into the target audience
The research has shown that the young people mainly visit the website to find out what the Peter Pan Holiday Club is and does, to get an impression of trips and to view photos of the trips.
However, my analysis showed that looking back on previous trips was not user-friendly. The “News” page was organized in chronological order, and “travels” and “news” were mixed up.
From my research based on Google Analytics data, I found that the majority of users navigated to “About Peter Pan” first. But the bounce rate was also the highest on this page. After further investigation, it turned out that the information on the “About Us” page was incomplete and therefore probably the reason users dropped out.

About us
The “About Us” page turned out to be one of the most important pages in the Google Analytics analysis. However, it only consisted of a few lines about the Peter Pan Vakantieclub. This page has been adapted to an “About us” page that provides complete information and gives a clear impression of atmosphere and impact to readers. Exactly what the majority of users visit the website for.
